Do you love your vehicle? Of course you do, so keep an eye on the tires. Proper air pressure is the most important part of tire care. The sidewall on an under inflated tire can flex, causing high heat and a reduction in carrying capacity. Under inflation can hurt your gas mileage and shorten the life of your tires. So:
Sometimes. Whatever you do, don’t continue to drive your vehicle if a tire has lost most of its pressure or has gone flat.
If you do, the tire may be damaged to a point where it can’t be repaired.
Most punctures, nail holes or cuts (up to a ¼-inch) in the tread area may be repaired (punctures in the sidewall should not be repaired). Let one of our trained experts check for you. The proper repair requires a plug for the hole and a patch for the area inside the tire that surrounds the puncture hole. Tires must be removed from the rim to be properly inspected before being plugged and patched. Remember, you shouldn’t try to repair tires if they are worn below 1/16th-inch tread depth.
Modern suspension, steering and drive train design all require a total vehicle, four-wheel approach to alignment.
Many vehicles today are equipped with a rear suspension design that requires an alignment check and possible adjustment. A misaligned rear suspension may cause problems for both front and rear tires.
A good alignment will keep your tires wearing evenly, which means that they will last longer. Not only that, but a quality alignment at Gatto’s can mean better performance and a comfortable ride.
